A construction of knowledge graph from open data
abstract
Since the open data movement was initiated in Taiwan, datasets are available in the open data platform. There exists a big challenge of data integration with having the huge amount of datasets. Take 'trail' datasets as an example. The Forest Bureau only concerns geospatial locations on the maps, while Tourism Bureau only concerns tourism information for a trial and Ministry of Health and Welfare only takes care about the consumption of calories as people walk on a trail. Each governmental department only concerns the affairs they charge of. Data management is often limited in the authority of a governmental department. There lacks a framework for integration of open data for making it to operable knowledge. This presentation is going to introduce how to utilize linked data technology for transferring agricultural traceable product data and civic IoT data to knowledge graphs and their applications.
Dongpo Deng is an evangelist for open data and open source. He was active in OpenStreetMap society and a charter member of OSM Taiwan and Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). He serves as a committee member of open data for several government organizations. As a geo-information and open data researcher, he devotes the studies of geospatial semantics, linked open data, and Volunteered Geographic Information.
